The swearing in ceremony for Mayor Cory Booker marks a regime change in the struggling city of Newark.
Sharpe James, the old-guard, machine-style mayor is gone after holding his grip on the city for decades.
"He served in city hall for 36 years," says the new mayor. "I'm 37-years-old, and he is now passing the torch."
Now all hopes are pinned on this young successor to turn Newark around after years of decay.
"Hey we have a chance," Booker says. "We stand on the frontiers of the greatest challenge, the greatest opportunity in our country right now."
Booker's rise as a political star seems predestined.
